We, the members of the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, are committed to providing proactive and professional law enforcement services. By employing community-oriented policing principles, we will work with our community to achieve the goal of improving the quality of life within Stephens County. We will diligently strive to respect the ideals of individual rights and human dignity and we will conduct ourselves in a manner that will enable us to be a law enforcement agency that the citizens of Stephens County can be proud to call their own. This is accomplished through the following goals:
PROVIDE PEACE AND PUBLIC ORDER by delivering professional law enforcement services that address the needs of victims of crime, by rendering assistance during times of natural disasters and emergency occurrences, and by ensuring the preservation of life, liberty, the protection of property, and the safety of the Stephens County citizenry;
SERVE OUR COMMUNITY through positive partnerships and by maintaining a helpful and caring attitude;
PREVENT CRIME by implementing proactive measures that limit the opportunity for illegal behavior;
CONDUCT CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS that successfully identify and prosecute those that violate the law and disrupt the quality of life enjoyed by our citizens;
MAINTAIN THE HIGHEST PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS through comprehensive training and the establishment of appropriate policies, programs, and procedures;
CREATE A PROFESSIONAL WORKING ENVIRONMENT that recognizes the value and dignity of each member of the Sheriff’s Office whereby each individual can grow professionally and render effective service to the public;
ADHERE TO THE HIGHEST ETHICAL STANDARDS, both individually and as an organization, to ensure that individual rights are protected; and
PROVIDE FOR THE SAFE AND HUMANE TREATMENT OF PRISONERS and of those awaiting legal adjudication.
