THE APPLICATION PROCESS

Once an application is accepted, it is held for six months or until a position becomes vacant. Once a position is vacated, a background check is performed on each application. This check involves a criminal and driver history check, POST record check, education and employment verifications, and interviews with previous and current employers as well as personal and professional references. Some applicants will be dropped during this process. Those who remain will then be contacted with an interview date. Please dress accordingly and arrive in time for your scheduled interview. Interviews should last approximately 20 minutes and will be held before a board of four current employees and a moderator. The review board will score each interviewee and those findings will be presented to the Sheriff and Chief Deputy for a decision. All applicants will be notified of the results and those selected for hire will be contacted with a conditional offer of employment and scheduled for a physical and drug screen.
